About Robotic Camp

Every curious kid deserves to know they can build something real.

I know that because I've watched it happen — in my own basement, with my own kids, and now with hundreds of families across Cary and Apex over the past 15 years.

How This Started

My son JP came home from a FIRST Lego League state competition when he was in eighth grade, completely on fire. He had just experienced something, real teamwork, real problem-solving, real stakes, and he wanted other kids to feel it too.

He said, "Mom, can I have a camp?"

I said sure. We'll do it in the basement.

That was over 15 years ago.

What Happened Next

JP went on to build his own Bitcoin mining facility and owns his own company today. His younger brother Michael, stepped in after him, ran the camp, and later became a mechanical engineer. Their siblings grew up working as junior leaders, building confidence and real responsibility before most kids their age even knew what that felt like.

I became a FIRST Lego League coach. JP and I ran the camp side by side for years. And somewhere along the way, it stopped being just our family's story and became hundreds of families' stories.

Why I'm Still Here

As a mom of six, I know the difference between a camp that keeps kids busy and one that actually changes them.

I have been in your shoes, trying to find something meaningful for your child to do. Something that sticks. Something that makes them walk out on Friday is different from how they walked in on Monday.

I didn't find it. So I built it.

Now I bring in high school students from the community as junior leaders, because I know exactly what that kind of responsibility does for a young person. I've watched it happen in my own house. I raised the proof.

So when you're choosing a STEM camp this summer, I want you to know you're not dropping your child off with strangers. You're handing them to a mom who has poured fifteen years and six kids into getting this right.

That's the difference. And that's why I'm still here.

What's Next for Robotic Camp

What started in a basement in Cary, NC, is growing. We're launching Robotic Camp Online in 2026, a year-round membership program for kids ages 8–14, wherever they live, because every curious kid deserves a place to build, create, and surprise themselves. Not just the ones who happen to live near us.

We're just getting started.
